No Law Protects me
I’m Ryan Perez: autistic, queer and a single dad. I’m raising money for stability and the support I need to keep working. You can help here, or read the personal account behind this ask.

Loading the public wall…
Accommodation, not charity.
I have finally found words for what I’ve lived through: “There is no law for me.” That is how a gap in protection has felt—not a claim that Canadian law does not apply. My report tells the longer story of disability, compensation and support needs that went unmet.
This fundraiser helps with immediate stability for me and my son, and the practical support I need to keep working. The goal is $25,000. Donations do not replace accommodation or fair pay.

These are the practical changes I’m asking for. Donations are a bridge toward them, not a guarantee that any program will approve me or that every need will be funded.
Funded executive proxy
A dedicated person or professional liaison to help handle clients, contracts, invoicing, landlords and government—the coordination that keeps work and daily life moving.
Benefits unlocked
Help from a clinician with T2201 and Disability Tax Credit assessment, then review of Canada Disability Benefit and RDSP eligibility. I’m asking for ADAP to be assessed on functional need; that is an advocacy ask, not a promise of current eligibility.
Housing stability
Rent arrears help, Rent Assistance Benefit screening and family housing options once my son is in my care. My rent is $2,350 a month. Program availability and eligibility need to be checked.
Supported self-employment
Business coaching, a vehicle, company registration and speaking travel funded as accommodation—not charity. Practical support lets me use skills I already have.
Trauma care
Ongoing C-PTSD counselling with a provider trained in adult autism, rather than expecting me to keep compensating without care.
Legal review
A lawyer’s assessment of civil claims that may have no limitation period, human-rights claims within the one-year filing period, and defamation risks before publicly naming anyone. A lawyer must verify which rules and remedies apply.
Mutual aid
This $25,000 campaign is a bridge while systemic support is absent from my life: immediate stability while I pursue longer-term accommodation.
Give what you can.
Online contributions are automatically charged in CAD in Canada and USD elsewhere. Verified contributions are converted into one campaign total. Canadian e-transfers are also welcome. This is a personal fundraiser, not a charitable donation; no charitable tax receipt is issued.
Canadian e-transfer (CAD)
Send Canadian dollars to this address from your bank. Autodeposit is enabled; no security question or answer is needed.
E-transfers require manual bank verification before they appear in the converted campaign total or qualify for rewards. Minimum $5 CAD. CAD is never counted as USD at face value; the campaign uses a dated reference exchange rate. Sending a bank transfer does not automatically add a public wall entry or subscribe you to marketing.
Mutual aid goes both ways.
I'm preparing these thank-you resources for supporters. They are forthcoming, not available for immediate delivery. I'll email you when they are available; there is no confirmed release date.
Two more ways to help.
Updates, only if you want them.
You don't have to contribute to follow along.
